Discover Ohio's Best Kept Secret

The Hocking Hills, just 90 minutes southeast of Columbus, Ohio, is one of the top vacation spots in region, with good reason. The area offers something for everyone:

  • Quiet escape from hectic city life
  • Pristine beauty of unspoiled wilderness
  • Slower paced life and appreciation of nature to share with your family
  • Rugged adventure, with hiking, caving, canoeing, and other outdoor sports
  • Great shopping opportunities for antiques and Appalachian art

The hallmark of the region are the state parks and reserves that offer unspoiled wilderness, hiking, cave exploration, waterfalls, and more. Within minutes south of The Bentree Lodge are Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, and Ash Cave. These parks are the most well known and draw hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

Old Man's Cave offers a hike down and through a large cave, Cedar Falls allows visitors to walk down to and swim in the pool of a large waterfall, and Ash Cave offers a hike both into and on top of an epic cave. For the more adventurous, multi-mile long hiking trails connect the three parks.

Just west of The Bentree Lodge are Conkles Hollow and Rock House. These parks are less well known but just as impressive. Conkles Hollow offers a leisurely hike through the woods, and Rock House provides rugged hiking and climbing through rock formations.
